  1. QA Lead

    We’re looking for a dedicated QA lead to help us keep the quality bar high as we scale to more subjects!

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead all aspects of app and game testing.
    • Create and maintain test plans and test cases.
    • Lead all aspects of app and game testing.
    • Work closely with our product, engineering, and support leads on a daily basis.
    • Assist with hiring.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • At least 1 year of testing software (Great sense for finding bugs, detailed repro steps, and accurate bug prioritization).
    • Passion for quality and user experience.
    • Excellent attention to detail (typos, alignment, etc).

    Bonus Points:

    • Experience with mobile games (designing, building, or testing).
    • Experience with automation.
    • You've found a reproducible bug in our app and can't wait to show it to us already!

  2. UI Designer

    We're after somebody with taste. A senior level designer who appreciates & executes communication in design exceptionally, with a lick of personality. You'll get to have an influence on a very exciting product & work with an exceptional team.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Design Portfolio.

    Bonus points:

    • Experience in Mobile.
    • Experience in Game Interface Design.

  3. Android Engineer

    We are looking for an exceptional Android engineer.

    You will play a vital role in getting our product into the hands of more people via Android platform. The impact that you'll have on the success of the company will be enormous.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Deep experience with the following:
    • Shipping at least one non-trivial Android iOS app.
    • Standard Android APIs and UI components.
    • Game development and frameworks.
    • Web service integration.
    • Automated testing.

    Bonus points:

    • Experience with iOS, Python and/or Django.

  4. Backend Engineer

    We are looking for an exceptional engineer to work on our growing web back-end.

    You will be a core part of a small, experienced engineering team. Your input will be vital and your work will have an immediate impact.

    If you’re deeply passionate about changing the way people learn and you thrive in a fast-paced, fun and sometimes slightly insane startup environment, this opportunity is for you. You’ll be joining a small, awesome team, so expect to wear a few hats and be treated as a partner, not an employee.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Deep experience with the following:
    • Python programming language.
    • Django or similar frameworks.
    • PostgreSQL or MySQL.
    • “Cloud” platforms such as Amazon EC2 or Rackspace Cloud.
    • HTTP API design & implementation.
    • Performance and scaling.
    • Internal reporting and metrics.
    • Automated testing.

    Some experience or interest in:

    • Linux Administration.
    • Custom Analytics.

  5. Mobile/Web Generalist Engineer

    We are looking for smart people with skills in iOS, Android, and/or Django.

    You will be joining a world-class engineering team that prides itself on shipping great products that people love.

    You'll get in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing company that truly values its engineers.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Key skills and traits
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Experience shipping at least one mobile application or website.
    • High attention to detail and user experience.
    • Software development best practices.
    • A love for games.

    Bonus Points:

    • Experience with Game Development.

  6. Engineering (Intern)

    As an intern, you will write and ship real code to help hundreds of thousands of users (and growing!) play games to learn on their mobile devices. Along the way, you will gain exposure to: the full system stack - from game loop to cloud data storage, software development best practices, adaptive, real-world applications for CS coursework and hands-on skills for starting a mobile app development company.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • At least two years completed as a Computer Science or related major.
    • Basic proficiency with at least one on the following languages: Obj-C, C++, Java, Python.
    • Organized, analytical mind, with strong attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with the iOS platform (as a user), iOS device ownership a big plus.

    Bonus Points:

    • Experience with technical documentation.
    • Experience with automated testing.
    • Passion for gaming; passion for education.

  7. Content (Intern)

    Your main responsibility will be assisting in the creation of the educational content that powers our current and future mobile applications. Your input will be vital and your work will have an immediate impact. You will have the ability to really own a particular area of the product suite and get in on the ground floor of a fun, rapidly growing, company.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Significant coursework or experience in linguistics and/or education.
    • Passion for helping people learn, particularly in a fun, highly engaging way.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to wear many different hats.
    • Superior writing and communication skills; a desire to engage others.

    Bonus Points:

    • Proficiency in multiple languages.

  8. Marketing (Intern)

    We are looking for a marketing intern who can help us engage top influencers in the educational community via blog posts, articles, podcasts, videos, etc. to communicate our brand and authority. You will assist with thought leadership, marketing, and a variety of other functions that will directly further the growth of our business.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Passion for helping people learn, particularly in a fun, highly engaging way.
    • Fluency in social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc).
    • Superior writing and communication skills; a desire to engage others.

    Pluses:

    • International experience.
